Craig BennetCraig Bennet

Craig graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990 and after completing the Diploma in Legal Practice, trained with Macbeth Currie & Co, Dunfermline before moving to Morgans in 1994. He was assumed as a Partner in 1997. Craig specialises in the preparation of wills, executries, guardianships, general commercial business as well as residential and commercial conveyancing.

Craig has been the Dean of the Local Faculty of Solicitors and the President of The Scottish Law Agents Society. In his spare time Craig enjoys spending time with his family (and his dog Beau!).

Claire MorganClaire Morgan

Claire graduated from Strathclyde University in 1996 and after completing the Diploma in Legal Practice, trained with John G Gray & Co, Edinburgh and Thorntons, Dundee. She joined Morgans in 1999 and was assumed as a Partner in 2001.

Claire has a keen interest in property and lettings and oversees the running of these departments as well as specialising in residential conveyancing. Claire also has a BSc in Management. Claire is Treasurer of the Local Faculty of Solicitors. She is a busy mum of 4 so has no spare time!

Brian Tait

Brian studied at the University of Dundee where he obtained both his degree and diploma with distinction.  He obtained a certificate in Employment Law from the University of Strathclyde Business School in 1993.Brian trained with Drummond Miller in Edinburgh, principally in litigation. In 1996 he opened Drummond Miller’s Dunfermline office where he was a partner for 19 years before joining the Morgan Law Partnership as a partner in June 2017. He is a former Dean of the Dunfermline District Society of Solicitors.

For over 25 years Brian has specialised in litigation with an emphasis on civil litigation, family law and employment law. He is also regularly instructed in personal injury, adults with incapacity and criminal matters.  He has gained a reputation for being able, thorough, pragmatic and approachable. He has strong advocacy skills when litigation is necessary but strives, where possible, to reach a negotiated settlement.

Many of Brian’s clients are long standing, returning to him because of his reassuring manner and the high standard of representation they have received in the past. Many clients are recommended by satisfied clients and solicitors. Brian is a Notary Public and a member of the Society of Solicitors in the Supreme Courts of Scotland.

Russel McPhateRussel McPhate

Russel graduated from Strathclyde University in 1986 and after completing the post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice trained with Carruthers & Co in Lerwick, Shetland. He moved to Fife in 1990, became a partner in Dunfermline firm C-A Petrie in 1999, then a sole practitioner from 2000 until joining Morgans in 2003. Russel deals predominantly with court matters including matrimonial, criminal, and all types of civil litigation. Russel is happily married with two children. Russel is an avid follower of Partick Thistle FC in his spare time and has visited almost all of the football grounds in Scotland, dragging his son along with him!

John MorrisJohn Morris

John graduated from Dundee University in 1994 and after completing the Diploma in Legal Practice he then trained with A.C. Morrison & Richards in Aberdeen. He worked with Johnston & Herron in Lochgelly and McKay & Norwell in Edinburgh before joining Morgans in 2003. John was assumed as Partner in 2005. John is primarily involved in residential conveyancing. In his spare time John enjoys playing golf and is a fan of Aberdeen Football club.
